| The Sony DCR-SX60 is the highest-level standard definition Memory Stick format model in the 2009 Handycamcamcorder lineup. In addition to recording video to removable Memory Stick Duo media (sold separately), the DCR-SX60 can also record up to almost 12 hours of video footage (in LP mode) to 16GB of embedded flash memory. Additional features include a 60X optical zoom lens for capturing extreme close-ups from far away, direct connection with the optional VRD-P1 DVDirectExpress DVD burner for easy video transfer without a PC, and an ultra-compact, lightweight design that allows for easy portability. Everything is perfect the only contradiction is the zoom, if you want to use it to full capacity you will need a tripod otherwise you must have a pulse like a rock.
I love this camera because with my old miniDV camcorder you have to spend the same time playing the recorded video in order to transfer to your computer and convert the film to a file but now I just plug this camcorder via USB and my desktop can recognize it as an external drive so you have to open the folder copy and paste the files into your computer and that's it.
Do not expect to take pictures, because the quality is poor and the maximum size you can get is only 640x480.
All the rest its fine.

This little camcorder is perfect. Small enough to fit in your pocket. And it takes great video too. I have been using it for a couple months now. I did buy a spare battery on eBay but only had to use it on location because I forgot to charge the camera from prior use. The spare is good to have in an emergency.
Even at it's highest picture quality setting, there's plenty of room for video with the built in memory. I think it is over 200 minutes. We took it on a 7-day cruise and I did not fill it. But if I were traveling for more than a week, I'd buy a 16gb chip. |

| I tried all the brands of Video recorders. I started with a 8mm (Sony), Digital 8 (Sony), MiniDV (JVC, Samsung), and I still have them all. NOTHING like Sony. NOTHING. What else to say. This is a great machine. Easy to use, lots of features, light weight. The only problem I found is the 50min batt. So little. |

| This is a great little camera..except the lack of a viewfinder makes it VERY difficult to use in bright sunlight. The image is impossible to see and the screen is like a mirror..you see yourself instead of what the camera 'sees'. |

| Except for the lack of an optical viewfinder, an excellent buy. LCD screen is sometimes useless in bright light or with polarized sunglasses. |
