Pioneer BDP-95FD Blu-Ray Disc Reviews For the Multi-Region Version

Posted by admin on Nov 8, 2009 in Sony Handycam Articles |

The multi-region version from Planet Omni is available.

This player is amazing. It is clearly better than the first gene-player, bdps1, even the bd91. There are a few things to consider about blu ray. It should not play CDs. If you have 1000 to spend on an Elite Blu Ray, then you should have good money, such as 600 for a Cambridge Azur or how a 24-bit CD player. blu-ray lasers are very narrow, and will not read CDs properly, and to do this would be far more work than itas meaningful by the major manufacturers.

That being said, drooling! best upscaling I have seen on any player until today to consider full streaming capabilities, and the Pioneer Elite. It's a really good player and I for one believe that it is the best time.

It plays CDs, as well as internally decode advanced audio (minus DTS-HD Master) to PCM for transmission over HDMI or analog, for all older receivers out there.

Very nice Blu Ray player but with many nice features. Loadinglike a computer not as fast as a regular player, but no big deal. This model is much better than the last one from this line. Picture and sound is so wonderful on a Pioneer plasma TV.I also have the VSX-91TXH amp to go with my system, Great Work Pioneer, but the work ok on prices.
WOW That is awesome player!

I am beginning to taste Pioneer most.

According to the manual for the BDP-94FD, shows the connection diagram on page 11 8 RCA jacks to 7.1 support.

I doubtthere will be no major physical changes between the BDP-94FD and the to-be released BDP-95FD.

I do not claim a particular experience, but my experience with Pioneer Elite is my barometer. I bought a second DVD a few years in support of the DVD and SACD, which my Denon does not. Pioneer defeated the Denon in both image quality and musicality in my setup and the Pioneer is still in operation, the Denon engine was going about 6 months. Sounds really easy to useI ………..

New Pioneer Elite Blu-ray player, the BDP-95FD, is geared to music lovers, as much as it is aimed at videophiles: In addition to the HDMI 1.3a and xvYCC color, it has bitstream output of even the highest audio codecs , including DTS-HD Master Audio. In other words, if you've just bought one of the latest kick-ass A / V receivers, you might actually use it in a position to its audio decoder.
The receiver has a few other things, mainly as a media streamer for PCContents of Pioneer Home Media Gallery system.

Pioneer ® Elite ® BDP-95FD Blu-ray Disc Player

The new Pioneer Elite BDP-95FD offers unprecedented high-definition picture and sound quality as a result of HDMI 1.3 connectivity. Besides the excellent image performance, higher bandwidth means the player's internal decoding of high resolution audio formats Dolby ® TrueHD, Dolby ® Digital + and has DTS-HD ™ as well as bit stream output for all advanced audio formats includingDTS-HD Master for 7.1 surround sound performance. The BDP-95FD can faithfully reproduce the 1080p 24 frames per second (fps) rate necessary to preserve feature film sequences, as the director intended. The Pioneer Elite Blu-ray Disc player integrated HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) to streamline the integration with other HDMI-CEC-enabled high-definition set-theater components. This feature allows a user to an entire home theater setup with a single remote control for maximum comfortcapability.

The new Blu-ray Disc player offers Pioneer's exclusive Home Media Gallery allows users to directly access and playback of music, movies and photos on a PC at home. The user-friendly home networking feature also provides IP networking for immediate download and the new digital media files directly from the computer through the BDP-95FD on a connected flat screen television. The Pioneer Elite Blu-ray Disc Player with Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) compliant,Window and Apple computers video, Windows Vista or Windows Media Connect, Microsoft PlaysForSure ™ DRM technology.

As I am very happy that I have a Pioneer Elite "Target" … The VSX-94 has been, is incomprehensible if they showed with the BDP-95, life is absolutely ridiculous in harmony .. that and it took two weeks to complete a very effective hook up, I was one with ELITEZEN MANUALS. …
I picked up a Pioneer Elite BDP-95HD of the Pioneer Store in CostaMesa.

I'll keep this first post for the answers to frequently asked questions, so that new owners get quick answers.

Pioneer Elite BDP-95HD is create the DTS-HD Master Audio bitstream, which can be decoded by the receiver / processor?

– Yes. My Integra DTC-DTS-screen 9.8 "-HD MSTR" when I select DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks from the disk. Frig'in-Audio is un-believable!

Are the load times are improved over the 94HD?

– Use POTC: COTBP as a benchmark, it took 22 secondsPress the Start button on the remote to the Pirates of the Caribbean "loading …" Message appears and displays a total of 38 seconds for the Disney screen

How does the PQ of the 95FD compare to the 94HD?

– Very similar – just a little sharper 95FD

How well does the 1080p24fps work:

– Flawless

How good is the SD DVD upconversion on the BDP-95FD?

– Very good (better than the BDP-94HD and HD1)

Reported problems or issues: None.

I have watched KingdomBlu Ray of the sky and listen to the DTS-HD MA audio track shows (Integra DTS-HD MSTR :-) Sounds frig'in-un-credible.

Player seems to work properly. Boot up time very acceptable. Responds to remote immediately. It is difficult to say whether there are any differences from the PQ PS3, which I had, but the DTS-HD MA is the mind blowing …

It took only 35 seconds from pressing the close button on the remote start to play Kingdom of Heaven …

With Disk DVD Playerand to stop players with POTC: COTBP it took 22 seconds to appear until the store POTC message and appear a total of 38 seconds for the Disney screen to …

After the device I can not help déjà vu all over again. As you can see in the picture, it looks almost identical to the 94HD and HD1. I like the class but see. I like the high gloss piano finish look. As Tony said, it takes about 35 seconds to play for the title. This is actually a fairly largeImprovement over the two older models. Just like the other initial setup is a breeze. I like the Pioneer 95FD better to the home screen. It just looks cooler. I am not only the device compares to his brothers (or bases), but the Samsung 1400th This elite unit costs more, but you feel it is money well spent.

Again, I love having the resolution button on the remote control. The ability to change it on the fly is so much better then to stop the movie and go into the crowdup menu (like the 1400 and HD-DVD player). If there is a feature other manufacturers could learn from Pioneer, that a good start would be around with. Also done in 1080p/23.98 (24) without any problems is a fresh breeze. Toshiba has struggled to know how many of us, it's nice to get a unit out of the box (as of 1400, 94HD and HD1), the 1080p/23.98 EDID to do without. I have not spent much time with this device, but from what I have, I can say it is THEBest Blu-ray player on the market.

The picture Q is very colorful and very sharp. It bests the very impressive (especially for its price) Samsung 1400th Not by a lot in terms of image Q, but when you add the whole package together, you know why the Pioneer more. Image settings, menu options, great remote (which is light years ahead of the competition is) and obviously a great picture with great sound. Speaking of sound, which I have only done a few comparisons so far, but it is too easy toSelect bitstream transfer in the menu. No confusion here. They are either sending DD or DTS via HDMI or PCM … Your call. This is very simple. I want to do more on audio soon, but send the audio to my receiver (Onkyo 905) sounded much as I expected. Also heard are good in the few minutes I had to do the 95FD. I'm not going to say what is better, because I do not want to re-open "Pandora's box. So do not ask here. PM me.

I am "(with the new Sony VPL-VW60" Black Pearl, the3. Picture) available for all of my comparison. It manages 1080p/23.98 like a champ. I can also send it straight into my crystalio II and then optimize the image before them to the VW60 in 1080p/23.98. The Pioneer 95FD is coming with all my other components, which I do not take for granted in those days.

And yes, I respect to the XA2 and A35 which are persistent, do if it appears to send some 1080p/24. In a direct comparison with the 94HD, the 95FD is of course a moreflexible unit with a slightly faster load times. The possibility of HBR audio directly to the receiver for decoding pass is a really cool feature. Especially if you bought one of the newer, it decrypt. The picture Q is very close. I go back and forth. Going straight to my pj 95FD look like it's just a little sharper, but its brilliant colors are nearly identical. I want to say that the Home Media Gallery looks more refined on the 95FD. I never really got into thisFunction before, but now I'm intrigued so I can just jump in!

The bottom line is if you have the 94HD and not via the bitstream audio function will ensure there is absolutely no reason for them to 95FD dump. However, if you do not have the interest and the best Blu-ray unit in terms of features and interesting picture / sound Q then look no further than the 95FD! I hate to keep picking it back to the new Pioneer units, such as my favorite Blu-ray unit, but honestly the other companies are still two steps. The95FD, the starter is set in mine. More to come (SD DVD compared to the A35 and XA2, and even 1400) and a few thoughts on audio … BTW, Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer (BR) is looking and sounding awesome on this device! Pick up a copy!

Well, I am pleasantly surprised that the Post has excellent upconversion 95FD. Much better than the 94HD and HD1. I even put it through the Blu-ray HQV Benchmark tests and treats them very well. Especially my favorite stadium TortureTest! And what about tradition lately even my adult videos look great! It is right on par with the A35 and XA2. I will work harder tomorrow and) included not real side comparisons (1400, but my first impressions are very good to excellent original … More to come ..

Great report Joe. Thank you. Looks like a winner. I also love the "classic" look and the end of the "elite" institutions. This is definitely the machine to buy if I sell my Onkyo 885 pre pro / arrives.

Do you have in comparison, a 5.1PCM tracks are from the PS3 vs. 95? I know it should not be a noticeable difference, but if you do nothing about it, a comparison I would be curious to know, exactly.

It is not surprising that better get DTS-MA sounds from the 95 as we are the only full signal vs. the 1.5 kernel of the PS3. Can not wait to hear it!
The DTS-HD HI res is the king of New York, DTS-HD audio track (I review Clock) and the DTS-HD Master is from the Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver SurferSoundtrack which says it is DTS-HD Master …

As I wrote created earlier in this thread, the 1400 close, but the 95FD a sharper image. I also prefer for SD-DVD upconversion. I also prefer all the other cool features such as the Resolution button on the remote control. It is much better able to fly resolutions to be taken to stop and change to go with a setup menu. Especially when you try to compare them! I spent some time this afternoon playing different blu rayDiscs, but tomorrow I will do my comparisons of the XA2 for SD DVD upconversion. I predict the 95FD will be on a par with the XA2. We need to find out what it is with a chip, because it is far far better than the 94HD and HD1 … More tomorrow …

When the 95 game XA2 on SD upscaling can This is a huge plus. The XA2 does almost new DVDs like HD and the only player so far that can do the same work, which are very Hi-end Denon or player 5 times more costly. TheSamsung 1200 has the same Reon chip and should be big, but not on the new audio features. Depending on your tests, I will soon be a new owner 95th

I see the BDP-95FD and the PDP-6010fd. Extremely happy with it. Firmware support has been excellent. I use it with a clock subs 2.2x digital preamplifier, Boz clock digital amplifier, Escalante Pinyon and a pair of Escalante. My connection is through the coaxial digital output. I have a Denon 3930 Signature update had in my system with thesame set-up and I must say the sound quality and bass impact blows me simply on the BPD-95FD stock form, the Pioneer bpd-95FD offers excellent performance in terms of audio and video.

Since my system can only process two-channel audio via the digital output, I get the two-channel version decodes Dolby Digital Plus?
Me too, I have the 95 and a 94-receiver and it is quite impressive in the sound department. It is a certain benefit to the ma tracks have. If you have goodEquipment.
